Road accidents: two dead and one seriously injured
23 year old from Triolet succumbed to his injuries in hospital in North wee hours of the morning Sunday. He was involved in a road accident on Thursday on a motorcycle with a friend. He fell on the Triolet bypass road.

The autopsy report prepared by the Police Medical Officer, Dr. Shaman, attributed the death of lacerations to the brain. At the time of the accident, the two victims were under the influence of alcohol. The passenger, a 18 year old, has, meanwhile, could get away with minor injuries.

A resident of Grand Bay, aged 44, also died Sunday in a traffic accident. A truck had struck the night of April 24 along the path twenty feet in Grand Baie. An autopsy by the medical examiner police attributed the death to multiple injuries.

The truck driver was arrested and brought before the court on Monday where an interim charge of manslaughter has been lodged against him. He found parole after providing a bond.

Furthermore, another resident of Trou d'Eau Douce, aged 32, was admitted to the intensive care unit at the hospital in Flacq. A truck had overturned on April 29, while preparing to cross the road at Trou d'Eau Douce.

The breath test performed on the vehicle was negative. The victim's father accused the hospital authorities had not provided the treatment necessary for his son after the accident.
