NTC: 100 buses to December

The National Transport Corporation (NTC) has acquired 36 new buses for the Nissan brand. This, to meet the government's decision to renew the bus fleet of the NTC.

These new buses will reduce expenses associated with the repair of older buses that have outlived their usefulness. The older buses will be replaced. These new buses consume less diesel.

Of these 36 buses, 11 are already on our roads. The remaining 25 will follow in the coming months and before long, the NTC is to purchase 10 vans. This year, the NTC expects to acquire 100 more buses. And next year, 200 buses.

Buses Nissan are better than the 2007 bus supports a high part of the NTC. "We are confident that these buses will last at least 17 years. 2007 buses often break down and are still in the garage. Bus with Japanese, we are confident. In the past, the NTC had acquired 100 bus and Isuzu with the bus, we had a long way. "The government will also inject money to the NTC to that kind of crisis. The crisis will continue for some time but it will get better in the near future, it says.

The sum of Rs 36 million has been injected and Rs 80 million are still waiting. It was also noted that the company will become profitable this year. On the side of the company, it stressed that it must be able to achieve savings of at least one million monthly. Note the diesel consumption of the NTC is $ 6 million per month Rs. The salary packages of the corporation is currently at Rs 40 million monthly. The government wants to help as many Mauritian families earn their living by working on the NTC. If the company closes its doors, many people will gather in the street. We want at all costs protect the jobs of workers. The NTC daily transports 60% of the labour force in the country
