Lyons Motor Car to Sshowcase Oddball LM2 Streamliner in New York
If a moment goes by when we don't see a new company sprouting up with the intention of building a supercar, we check our internet connection. That's just how often these things come across our desks.

Some, of course, stand a better chance of making their way to actual production, but most get lost along the way. And sometimes that's more of a shame than others, but we won't cry when this one vanishes into thin air.

The machine, which is called the LM2 Streamliner, is just about the ugliest thing we've seen since the Pontiak Aztek, and it's apparently set to debut – in some form or another – at the New York Auto Show next week. "The LM2 Streamliner is not only an engineering tour-de-force," reads the statement on the company's website, "it is a masterpiece equivalent to fine art."

A project of New York-based Lyons Motor Car Limited, the Streamliner is earmarked to pack a twin-turbo V8 (CNC-milled from billet aluminum and with no wiring whatsoever) under its unshapely bodywork that's quoted to generate a fantastical 1,700 horsepower and 1,610 pound-feet of torque. Channeled to all four wheels though a seven-speed DSG, the performance figures are, of course, equally fantastical, with a 0-100 km/h time quoted at 2.2 seconds and 0-160 in 4.1.

Needless to say, this all stands about as good a chance of actually manifesting into reality as Kurt Cobain rising from the dead and declaring himself the grungy messiah.
