Think Taking the Bus Sucks? Wait Until You See What It's Like In Cuba
Buckling up optional. The US economic boycott of Cuba is in the process of being lifted.
That means, for the first time in over a half a century, new cars, trucks, and buses (among an endless list of other goods) will make their way to the island nation that didn’t originate in Russia. Cuba is currently flooded with pre-boycott 1950s-era cars that’ve been heavily modified to keep them running. But when it comes to public transportation, even more creativity was required; just look at some of the buses. Yes, that’s a tractor pulling human cargo. And yes, one bus was once a dump truck.
