Batmobile Tumbler Replica Proves Chinese Will Copy Anything
Renting out Tumblers is apparently a profitable business.
Pick up almost any manufactured item and chances are the words “Made in China” will stare back at you. The country has mastered the art of replication, evidenced in part by this rolling version of the Dark Knight’s ride for the recent Christopher Nolan-directed Batman movies. Built by prop maker Li Weilei, you can either have one knocked up for around $11,000 and roll it home (there’s no drivetrain to speak of), or you can rent it out.
Li says he makes in the region of $10k per month from his Tumbler rental business.
Having written that sentence, it’s painfully clear a career change needs serious consideration.
