Fraud: Two Porsche, One Mercedes Seized By The MRA

Two luxury cars were seized by the officers of the MRA, they include two Porsche of make Cayenne and Panamera and a Mercedes SLS 63.
Returning citizens of Mauritius benefit from allowances to import a motor vehicle at a concessionary rate of duty. However these three seized cars bought abroad and imported under the allowances were not used by their owners.
Since five months, the officers of the Fiscal Investigation Department are working on this operation to crack down the culprits.
“We were informed that the people using the cars were not their owners” a spokesperson of the MRA said.
These vehicles were seized last Friday at the dealers, owners and those suspected to use them.
