This is a 2.9 L Manual (2009 Model 987.2 Generation 2) and delivers unbelievable performance (new Cayman's are now only 2.0 and 2.5 for 'S' model) .

The Gen 2 model is a big improvement on Gen 1 as it eliminates the IMS (Intermediate Shaft) bearing which has caused so many engine failures in Cayman models before 2009. Cayman's are known to be extremely stable (compared to 911's) because of their mid-engine configuration. In addition it also has PSM (Porsche Stability Management System) as an added option, which makes this Cayman even more stable!

This is a Straight-Six Engine and it delivers the classic "Porsche sound" (unlike the newer Cayman's which are Straight-Fours). The Engine is in excellent condition and the car, for it's year, is in very good condition. Everything works as Porsche builds solid cars to last many decades.

The amazing thing about Porsche is that, when things go wrong, all the parts are available from UK at prices cheaper than (say) BMW parts! The UK website I purchase from takes 4 days delivery via DHL and, surprisingly, the labour charges at Porsche Agency in Mauritius is also reasonably priced (eg Rs3000 to change brake pads!). Thus servicing charges is either equal or less than most "luxury car brands" in Mauritius.

The Cayman has TWO boot compartments (front and rear) and can carry lots of shopping, main suitcase and cabin luggage. It has as much boot space as a normal car. It has recently completed its' 100,000 km servicing, belts, some suspension parts changed, to keep the vehicle mechanically tip-top. Fuel consumption depends upon how you drive.

Porsche is the ONLY brand who built their sport cars for Racing first, and then manufacture them as "Production Cars". A very solid car!
