13-Year-Old Teen Crashes Lamborghini Huracan During Night-Time Joyride, Flees the Scene

Although it’s not necessarily about knowing you’re doing something wrong (because they do), it’s more about a blatant disregard for authority, common sense and other people’s property.

Such issues are further amplified when the vehicle in question isn’t grandma’s Camry, but rather some other family member or friend’s Italian exotic – in this case, a Lamborghini Huracan.

By the way, the Huracan is generally regarded as a difficult supercar to crash, seeing as how it’s available with all-wheel drive (so grip in all conditions isn’t too big an issue for non-RWD variants) and has all the active and passive safety features one might need in today’s day and age. So, when one does end up crashed, it’s likely either because the driver was pushing the vehicle beyond its limits (which is crazy to think about), or they failed to adjust their driving to whatever road/weather conditions they encountered.

The latter seems to have been the case with this particular Huracan, which got totaled on the Trans Canada Highway in West Vancouver just last week.

On March 25, 2024, at approximately 11:00 pm, West Vancouver Police were routed to the scene of an accident (a single vehicle collision), where they found the Huracan in question crashed in a ditch with nobody inside.

“Officers began an exhaustive search to ensure the well-being of the driver and any passengers,” said Sergeant Chris Bigland. “With the cooperation of the vehicle owner we were able to promptly locate and interview occupants of the car who were uninjured.”

That’s when they discovered that a 13-year-old teen was behind the wheel at the moment of the crash. Apparently, they wanted to take one of their friends out for a nighttime joyride, in rainy conditions no less.

“The youth and a friend decided to take the car for a drive but were unable to control the car in the dark and rainy conditions. While significant property damage has been done, we are grateful that no one was hurt in the collision. The driver has been charged under the Motor Vehicle Act with Speeding, Driving Without Due Care, Failure to Remain at the Scene of a Collision, and Driving with No Drivers License,” added Sergeant Bigland.

Now, judging by the state of things, we’re pretty sure this Huracan is a write-off, and we’d definitely be interested to hear what the insurer had to say when they heard that a 13-year-old was behind the wheel, instead of the vehicle’s rightful owner.

Hopefully everyone learned a valuable lesson from this, painful and costly as it may have been. We are glad that nobody got hurt though, as that’s always the most important thing.
