2012 Chevrolet Cruze gets fuel economy bump, more standard equipment
There were rumormills that the six-speed automatic-transmission-equipped Chevrolet Cruze is getting a two-mile-per-gallon fuel economy bump in 2012.

General Motors has made the news official, and the automaker has also revealed a few upgrades for the upcoming model year.

On the 2011 Cruze, a $525 Connectivity Plus Cruise package was available. The kit featured Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port, steering wheel-mounted controls for the audio, cruise control and leather on the tiller and shift knob. That equipment will now come standard on the 2012 Cruze 1LT and Eco.

In addition to the upgraded kit for the 1LT and Eco, all trims of the 2012 Cruze will get remote keyless entry. Other highlights: Keyless start has been added to the 2LT and LTZ; a seven-inch touchscreen display on the Eco, 2LT and LTZ; and fog lamps on the LTZ trim.
