Ahead of its unveil, Corsa Italia has posted a few unofficial sketches of the sedan, designed by Malandrinos Konstantinos, that show a possible exterior look of the car.
The sketch incorporates few elements from the Alfa Romeo 4C, and some cues exclusive to the car. The front end is characterized by the iconic Alfa Romeo inverted triangular grille flanked by a pair of sleek horizontal headlights, as well as a 4C-inspired lower fascia.
As with any Italian sedan, the side profile will have sensuous character lines running across, which will highlight the Giulia’s sporting characteristics, while the rear features large set of Giulietta-inspired taillamps integrated in the 4C-esque boot lid.
The upcoming Alfa Romeo sedan will share its components as well as FCA’s E-segment platform with the Maserati Ghibli, which is based on the RWD architecture. It could also share the engine lineup, which is offered with a 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine in two different tunes (330 hp and 400 hp), and a 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel with 271 hp.
Expect the Alfa to offer the Ghibli’s V6 engines for top-of-the-line models and inline-four cylinder engines for base variants. The 8-speed automatic from Ghibli is a likely candidate for routing the power to Giulia’s wheels. For North American markets, it will be equipped with AWD in top “Q4″ variants.
