It debuts in the United States next month at the New York Auto Show and will be available late this summer for $129,585.
The GT-R Track version has a Nismo-tuned chassis, Nismo front fenders, 20-inch Nismo aluminum-alloy wheels, Recaro seats, and a carbon-fiber spoiler. The body shell is also more rigid thanks to adhesive bonding. The Track Edition is done up in a special red-and-black color scheme.
The Track model weighs 3,915 pounds, which is four pounds heavier than the Nismo and 18 pounds lighter than the Premium models.
Though the Track Edition gains some Nismo elements, it still has 35 fewer hp than the 600-hp Nismo edition, which is the halo of the GT-R line that was refreshed for 2017. The Track Edition was shown last fall in Europe for global markets and before that in Japan. Though Nissan confirmed Monday the US will get the special model, it's been expected, and Track models have been part of previous GT-R lines.
"The new GT-R Track Edition gives buyers a specialized model, one true to GT-R heritage and available only by special order," Nissan North American product planning vice president Michael Bunce said in a statement.
