The fourth generation Suzuki Swift is underpinned by the light and rigid HEARTECT platform. The Euro-spec 2017 Suzuki Swift measures 3,840 mm in length, 1,735 mm in width and 1,495 mm/1,520 mm in height. The redesigned supermini’s wheelbase spans over a length of 2,450 mm. The all-new model is 10 mm shorter than the outgoing model and has a 20 mm longer wheelbase.
Thanks to the increments, there’s 54 litres of extra luggage space, bringing the total figure up to 254 litres. Also, the car is 15 mm lower 40 mm wider now, and its Euro-spec version has a wider front and rear track than the JDM version.
Suzuki will offer the 2017 Suzuki Swift in five different configurations in the UK. All-new Swift buyers will get to choose from two petrol engines: K12C 1.2-litre DUALJET and K10C 1.0-litre BOOSTERJET. The 1.2-litre four-cylinder engine produces 66 kW (88.47 hp) at 6,000 rpm and 120 Nm of torque and is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission. The 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine develops 82 kW (109.92 hp) at 5,500 rpm and 170 Nm of torque between 2,000 rpm and 3,500 rpm (5MT)/160 Nm of torque between 1,700 rpm and 4,000 rpm (6AT). SHVS mild-hybrid tech and ALLGRIP four-wheel drive system are available.
The 2017 Suzuki Swift will sell in the UK in three trim levels: SZ3, SZ-T and SZ5.
LED daytime running lights, 16-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, Advanced forward detection system, leather steering wheel, 7-inch Smartphone Linkage Display Audio with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, MirrorLink and satellite navigation, lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control are key features of the car.
