The image of the 2018 Suzuki Jimny depicts the interior of the right-hand drive version. The layout is an amalgamation of new Suzuki products like the Swift and Ignis. The circular aircon vents at the far ends of the dashboard and the central rectangular vents are similar to the Ignis. The steering wheel design and circular aircon controls borrow heavily from the new Swift. The centre console also houses a SmartPlay touchscreen unit.
Exposed rivets on the dashboard and around the instrument console add to the Jimny's neo retro design appeal. The Jimny continues in the 3-door body style and will offer seating for four occupants. From the looks of it, Suzuki will offer the top-spec Jimny with a healthy list of features including a touchscreen AVN and automatic climate control to name a few.
The current (third generation) Jimny came to the market in 1998. The 2018 model will replace the Jimny globally and will be made in India suggests a media report from July 2016. The Gypsy is nothing but the second generation Suzuki Jimny, and it could be that the 2018 Suzuki Jimny could bring back the Maruti Gypsy brand name to the civilian market.
