2025 Mazda CX-60 Announced With Subtle Improvements, But the Wait Is Going to Be Long
The Japanese automaker has announced the latest evolution of the Mazda CX-60 for one of its most important markets across the Old Continent – the 2025 model year for the United Kingdom.

Mazda's little sports car may be one of the coolest vehicles around the planet, but the hard truth is that just like every other model, it's not riding high and has plenty of space in the back for the kids and in the trunk for virtually every activity, they're just living on borrowed time. For example, the US subsidiary of Mazda announced its October sales results, and it was the best-ever month for the CX-30, CX-50, CX-70, and CX-90 crossover SUV models.

But do you notice how there are a couple of spaces in between them? Well, unfortunately for North American customers, the Mazda CX-60, which is 'crafted in Japan' according to the company, isn't available in the region. European fans don't have such a problem with it, as it's not a forbidden fruit there, though. Well, that's great news because Mazda has just upgraded the mid-size crossover SUV, the inaugural model featuring their Large Product Group architecture with longitudinal engines and inline-four plus inline-six mills, for the 2025 model year in the UK.

Over there, the 2025 Mazda CX-60 is set to come with "new interior design features and technical revisions" that will put it in line with the all-new Mazda CX-80 three-row SUV. However, get ready for a long wait because the 2025 CX-60 will arrive at nationwide UK dealerships during the summer of 2025. The updates include new black Nappa leather seats and a revised dashboard panel for the Homura trim, as well as black lining for the roof and pillars. The flagship Takumi grade is unchanged, though.

The technical upgrades for the 2025 model year "are equally subtle," admits Mazda, as the CX-60 will arrive with a revised rear suspension setup for improved comfort and stability, for example. Coming from the 2025 Mazda CX-30, Mazda MX-30, and Mazda3, there's also a new exterior color - Zircon Sand metallic. The Japanese automaker also mentioned there are no modifications to the engine lineup – so the 2025MY soldiers on with the inline-four plug-in hybrid powertrain packing 323 hp and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque, as well as the 3.3-liter inline-six diesel, which churns out 228 hp and the same 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque.

Currently, for anyone who doesn't want to wait until the 2025 Mazda CX-60 arrives at dealerships, there's a "competitive finance offering" for all trims and engines, plus the Solo 7kw universal home charger is offered with PHEV models at half its list price. "The Mazda CX-60 is a standout model in our SUV range in the UK, and with this new finance package, it's now an even more tempting proposition for retail customers. I'm delighted that as we look forward to the 2025 Mazda CX-60, the current car has one of the most competitive finance packages in the sector," explained Jeremy Thomson, Mazda Motors UK's Managing Director.
