As it turns out, it didn't take long for police do identify the idiotic rider. Public tips quickly pointed law enforcement toward 25-year-old Randy George Scott, who quickly found himself with a warrant out for his arrest.
Scott turned himself in to police at Kelowna, around six hours from the town where the incident reportedly took place, and he's been arrested on charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. The crime can carry a penalty of up to five years in jail, according to CNN.
The video shows a rider dangerously weaving through traffic as the speedometer pegs out at 299 km/h outside the town of Saanich. Police say the rider may have been traveling significantly faster than that, however, as the motorcycle can be heard accelerating even after the speedometer tops out. You can check out the video below to see the stupidity again.
Remember, kids, there's a time and a place for everything. Riding a bike fast is an awesome experience, but keep it on track where it belongs.
