5 Tiptop Audi R8 Tune Jobs
What gearhead could say no to an R8 with more horsepower and a sleeker body kit? The Audi R8 is plenty fast and beautiful in stock form. However, we currently live in a society where too much is never enough.

Thus, we have these tuned Audi R8s. The souped-up supercars featured here are both faster and better looking than their stock counterparts. They also prove that there's no such thing as too much good stuff, at least when it comes to body kits and engine modifications. All AmPm taglines aside, continue below to see how truly awesome an R8 can become once it's gone under a tuner's knife.

You've got to give RENM Performance props on its R8 Spyder tune job. The imaginatively named R8 V10 RMS Spyder is designed to be both lighter and faster, with its engine boosted to 591 horsepower thanks to several modifications. An ECU flash, carbon fiber air intakes and a lightweight performance exhaust give the R8 its oomph, while a race height-adjustable suspension and ceramic brakes ensure that you'll be able to both hug the track and stop at short notice.

Wheelsandmore's R8 Supersport Edition has a track-melting 611 hp and 431 lb-ft of torque. Those numbers were made possible thanks in part to improved electronics and a handcrafted stainless steel exhaust system that is 40 percent lighter than stock. Exterior mods include 20-inch matte black wheels with red brake calipers. Wheelsandmore knows that exclusivity breeds awesomeness, which is probably why the R8 Supersport was limited to only 333 examples.

First off, Racing One deserves mad props for covering its tuned R8 in lime green. Second, Racing One deserves mad props for boosting the supercar's 5.2-liter V10 all the way up to 610 hp. In addition to the beefier engine, Racing One added two-way MDS dampers from Bilstein Motorsport, brake pads from Performance Friction Brakes and an in-house brake cooling system originally designed for the race track.

If you have $64,000 and an R8 in need of tuning, you may want to consult Sport Wheels. The tuning house offers a package that increase performance both under the hood and on the exterior. Body mods include a new front spoiler and grille, cooling ducts and carbon ribs. Total horsepower has been kicked up to 600 hp thanks to a level-two software optimization. Some of that money also buys 20-inch rims, ceramic brake calipers and an aluminum coilover suspension.

Underground Racing went all out in the power department when tuning the R8. The American tuners somehow pushed 1000 hp out of a 5.2-liter V10, although they wouldn't quite reveal how they hit those numbers. Yes, the R8 V10 Twin Turbo is a power-dense monster.
