700-hp Brabus G-Wagen Latest Addition to Dubai Police Motor Pool

Expanding Germany's "Tune it! Safe!" program to the Emirates, this custom G63 AMG boasts Brabus' B63S 700 Widestar tuning regimen. That includes a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 tuned up to 700 horsepower, a retuned dynamic suspension, 23-inch forged alloys and full widebody kit.

That's enough to send the big Merc to 62 in just 4.9 seconds and on to a wind-cheating top speed of 149 miles per hour. As you can see, it's also been fitted with a full police livery and lighting package, making for a vehicle well suited towards keeping both road and dune under the rule of law.

This is only the latest, and not even the most outrageous, high-powered vehicle to join the Dubai police. The department recently acquired a Ferrari FF and a Lamborghini Aventador, and reportedly displayed an Audi R8, Nissan GT-R and Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG at the show as well. Of course some police forces have been known to merely borrow supercars and temporarily paste their liveries and lights atop them to raise public awareness and drum up some good will, and that could be the case with the Emir's officers as well, but if any police department can actually afford (and afford to fuel) these cars, surely it's Dubai's.
