Car enthusiasts are completely obsessed with how fast a car can go from 0-100 kph. Even magazines like Top Gear are guilty of staging drag races just to see what is the fastest car. Sometimes, the race is between competing supercars, cars from the same brand or even two completely different cars that are simply lined up against each other for comedic effect. It may be silly, but if it wasn't for these videos, how would we know which car is the fastest?
Most people never get a chance to test their car from 0-100 km/h in the real world. Drag races between two cars usually involve going to a race track. Unless you are a lucky individual with a ton of money to spend, you are stuck reading magazines to determine which car would win in a drag race. Clearly, the folks over at Rybrook Driver's Life thought that there should be a better way to see what the fastest car is. They have created a simulator that lets you plug in two different cars to see which one will win from 0-100 kph in a drag race. The simulator is pretty simple, but it gets the job done and is a lot of fun.
All you need to do is plug in the make, model and variant for two cars, then choose a color that each will be represented as. We wish that the simulation showed the actual car, but we won't complain. The simulator then shows the two cars going down the runway at different speeds depending on the car. We decided to lineup up the latest F80 generation M3 against the new Alfa Romeo Giulia QV. The blue BMW hit 100 kph in 4.2 seconds, which was slower than the red Alfa Romeo at just 3.8 seconds. The simulator actually has a decent amount of cars to play around with, and it is a great way to kill some time during the day.
