With the arrival of the electric mobility era, the future is here, and technological breakthroughs are rapidly making the things of science fiction into reality. With the Cyber electric scooter, Chinese bike maker CFMoto introduces its electric portfolio with the Zeeho sub-brand. However, it's also coming up with the 300GT-E, a full-fledged electric motorcycle designed initially for police use in China.
CFMoto describes the 300GT-E as “Purpose-built to meet the demands of police departments across China’s mega cities.” The 300GT-E is the first full-fledged electric motorbike from the Chinese company. With panniers and a front fairing, the design resembles that of a standard police motorbike. It is expected to have three riding modes, one of which is reverse. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels and is equipped with a USD fork up front and a monoshock in the back, as well as Bosch ABS.
he structural alloy housing of the battery pack is adaptable to suit a variety of motor. CFMoto promises to be able to provide a wide range of performance and designs from a single platform, suggesting that the 300GT-E will lay the groundwork for future models. The motor is rated at 10.5kW, around 14 horsepower of continuous output and 16.8kW, around 22 horsepower, of peak power. Furthermore , with 54.2Nm, or roughly 38 ft-lbs, of torque, this motorbike should be able to match the performance of a 300cc gasoline-powered motorcycle. CFMoto promises a top speed of 75 miles per hour and a range of 93 miles on a single charge.
Given its performance, the 300GT-E is a heavyweight motorbike, weighing 224 kilograms. However, chances are that a bulk of that weight is due to heavy-duty equipment such as the onboard comms system, which enables real-time communication and access to police databases. As for standard tech, a 7-inch TFT display and keyless start system are also included with the EV. It gets switch cubes attached on the handlebar that may be used to select between functions.
Given the fact that this much details about the 300GT-E have already been revealed, chances are law enforcement in China will get their hands on these bikes much sooner than later. With a power output comparable to that of 300 to 400cc gas-powered bikes, it goes without saying that the 300GT-E platform will surely make for a versatile all-rounder in the electric motorcycle game. Hopefully, CFMoto will release it for the general public, too.
