Citroen to launch revived C2, dubbed ‘3CV’
Citroen have been busy creating a new city car as well as planning a few other models for the market.

Citroen have reported that they are currently developing an entry-level model to sit snuggly between the C1 and C3. Effectively it is a modern-day C2 that the firm have dubbed the Citroen Trois Chevaux (3CV).Their city car vision will see the 3CV blending the best bits of previous models: the spirit of the eccentric Ami 6, the space efficiency of the 2CV and the ride comfort of the GS. Chief of PSA Jean-Marc Gales said that "this car is all about wellbeing."

He continued: "It devotes abundant space to the passengers, is so relaxed that we may even cap the top speed, and will be a style statement in the best tradition of the brand." Prepared for launch in 2013, the Trois Chevaux will be based on the PF1 architecture, which could well make it the first small hybrid to come out of Paris. In other news, having sold more than 100,000 units of its DS3 in just 18 months, spin-offs are now in the pipeline in the form of the DS3 Cabrio, to be co-produced with Magna in order to accommodate a rollback roof a la the Fiat 500; whilst the DS3 Racing will benefit from a sportier variant sometime in 2012.

Finally, Citroen are working on a design for a DS4 SUV to rival such cars as the Audi Q3 and the slow-selling C6 will eventually be replaced by the DS6.
