Citroen to Offer Free Insurance?
LONDON, England - Citroen is turning to technology in the form of a “black box” to reduce the cost of owning and insuring a new car for first-time owners.

The Smartnav system, provided by Trafficmaster, allows the automaker to offer free insurance for the first year of ownership to all eligible drivers from 19-75 years old.

Thanks to fitting the telematics unit in the Citroën’s C1 Connexion, the insurance offered is free for qualifying young drivers subject to two-years' no-claims discount.

The box will record and reward good driving habits with lower insurance premiums in subsequent years.

Emphasising its aim at the youth the C1 Connexion is the UK’s first production vehicle to be created in collaboration with Facebook. More than 24 000 members of the public helped to construct the model.
