This video from the 2013 Halloween Hooptiefest 24 Hours of LeMons race is the kind of scary stuff that keeps us reviewing cars instead of racing them.
This driver is puttering about, carrying good speed and, from the brief recording we can see, driving quite well. That is, until another driver, who seemingly comes out of nowhere, attempts to put his front tire where the passenger seat should be.
It's a scary crash, not just because of the purple-wheeled car coming from the blind side, but for the way the tire very nearly gets into the cabin. The initial crash causes a pretty hefty pileup on the oval section of New Hampshire Motor Speedway; thankfully everyone walked away according to the Nadeau Motorsport's YouTube channel. The damage to the camera car was bad, but not enough to keep it from finishing the race. Take a look below for the full video.
