They never miss an opportunity to stick a ticket. But how an officer of the National Transport Authority (NTA) to take his own vehicle in contravention. This happened in Curepipe under the amused gaze of each other and indignant ...
The National Transport Authority (NTA) has initiated an internal investigation into the conduct of three 'traffic wardens'. This, after an e-mail with supporting evidence, has landed on the desk of the Commissioner of NTA. It shows the officer taking his own vehicle in contravention. This unusual scene took place before a former director of tennis.
The same day he sent an email to Khedun Nasser, the NTA Commissioner with a copy to Mr. Anabheebucus, chairman of the authority. The informant deplores "lack of ethics" of these officers. "Using an official document of the NTA for this kind of practice is a fraud. In addition, three officers were in uniform. I assume that this is a common practice in other 'traffic wardens' "can be read in this letter.
10 September, 12.15, a vehicle with three officers on board of the National Transport Authority, the station is Chasteauneuf Street, Curepipe. So far, nothing unusual! But once outside, the three officers, all of 'traffic wardens' of the NTA, keep watch. Attitude surprises! Against all odds, one of them pulls out his notebook and glue a ticket (No. 162 ...) the same vehicle that brought him to this place.
Moreover, he places the yellow coupon on the dashboard of the vehicle. While in normal times, a 'traffic warden' never has access to the interior of a car to move the yellow coupon. He puts it on the windshield. The car is therefore assessed a ticket for not having posted its coupon parking.
At 13.15 precise, the three officers left the scene to go to the city to crack. A surprising attitude. And this is where the former leader of tennis comes in. With his camera, he shot. The same day he sent an e-mail to the Commissioner and the President of the NTA. Such denunciation shall not remain a dead letter. In its response, Cyril Appajala, Transport Controller of NTA, he announces the institution of an investigation into the actions of the three officers.
A source at the National Transport Authority confirms and adds that the case be referred to the police if necessary. "I think it has penalized itself to scoop a real fine. And the coupon it placed on the windshield is actually two are not used. But this action will definitely be punished, "said our source.
