An Extreme Car For An Extreme City
Mansory is the company you turn to when you want to take your exotic and then crank the volume up to levels that would make Caligula blush. The company's Ferrari-based Pugnator is one of the best examples of that, and it feels perfectly at home in Dubai.
Pugnator crams on the extras to Flavio Manzoni's sleek original design. A new front bumper with more add-ons and aerodynamic devices than a Formula 1 car is just the start. Carbon fiber fender flares, a new hood with multiple vents, and a gigantic wing on the top of the hatch keep it going, and then at the back it's all rounded out with a diffuser that has more carbon than a Boeing 787.
At least there are usually some changes under the hood to go with it. The 6.5-liter V12 is tuned to make 755 horsepower instead of the 715 it makes stock, for example.
Normally, Mansory shows these SUVs with paint colors that are as wild as the design. For Dubai's show of force, though, it is in their standard livery. And somehow, the white paint and green livery makes it all look subtle. The Pugnator doesn't wail like its siren, instead it somehow manages to blend in. Such is the overwhelming power of Dubai.
It also helps that this is the more standard Pugnator, and not the Tricolore. That version has three massive rear wings along with a four-wide exhaust in the rear bumper that is far too loud for a police vehicle.
Dubai Cops Becoming Mansory's Best Customer
Mansory unveiled the new SUV earlier this week in the city. The reveal came as part of the 1000 Miglia Experience UAE 2025, a week-long event and tour including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Oman.
The Dubai police might be one of Mansory's best customers at this point. It's their third collaboration, with one of the tuner's Rolls-Royce Cullinans joining the fleet earlier this year and a Mansory Mercedes-AMG G63 already along for the ride.
It's a strange partnership. We can't imagine someone like Hennessey pairing up with the Texas Rangers to build a special Tahoe and then expecting that to sell more to the public. On the other hand, a Texas Ranger Tahoe does sound pretty cool.
We have to wonder, when a vehicle like this enters the fleet, what is the response? Is there a race to see who can get ticketed by one first? There are definitely enough supercar owners with time on their hands to try it.
It's not the first time that a Purosangue has gotten tangled up in the law. Ferrari was almost unable to use the name in the first place, and it took a horse breed organization to court in 2021 to get it.
