The cargo will reach Mauritius on March 7. Initially, diesel will be mixed with the currently available 500 ppm and after one-and-a-half months, 50 ppm will be sold in the market.
This refined product will be profitable for the population. It is a substitute for the 500 ppm diesel currently available on the market, which was introduced in the 2010
Regarding the price of diesel with 50 ppm of sulfur, after the cargo reaches Mauritius, the Petroleum Pricing Committee (PPC) will meet and then decide.
Megh Pillay, managing director STC said, “The 50 ppm diesel allows better complete combustion of fuel and consumption is optimised and engine life is extended.”
