Even More Amazing Lamborghini Huracan On the Way
Like a Superleggera, but maybe not called that. You probably saw this coming, but it's still good to have confirmation, as things don't always go exactly according to the formula.

The news comes by way of Evo, which received it from Lamborghini test driver Giorgio Sanna. Lamborghini will indeed be making a lightweight and more powerful version of the Huracan, designated LP610-2. As you might have already guessed from the name, the car will also be rear-wheel-drive, (as we just reported yesterday) no doubt the source of much of the weight loss.

We're still waiting for something official from Lamborghini but we do now know that that the car will be more track focused, a sort of road-going version of the LP620-2 Super Trofeo race car. It will essentially be the spiritual successor to the Gallardo Superleggera, although it isn't yet known if the Superleggera name will be used. For that matter, Lamborghini hasn't even officially acknowledged the program yet, and we apparently shouldn't expect it to arrive until next year at the very earliest. By that time, it may have a Speciale version of the Ferrari 488 GTB to contend with, as well as the very real possibility of an updated McLaren 675LT.
