It is expected to launch in the month of September, slotting in as the third model in Fiat India's lineup based on the Fiat Punto Evo hatchback.
Although the car is completely wrapped up, Fiat already revealed the Urban Cross at the Auto Expo 2016. It loses the tailgate-mounted spare wheel seen in the Fiat Avventura crossover but features a new grille, updated headlamps, revised bumper and silver body cladding as seen in the Auto Expo show car. With respect to dimensions, there are barely any differences to the Avventura. The Urban Cross measures 4,000 mm in length, 1,700 mm in width, and 1,500 mm in height.
Inside, the Urban Cross comes equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system, Bluetooth connectivity and satellite navigation, dual tone red and black interior and silver accents on the steering wheel.
The Urban Cross will only launch with the 1.4L T-Jet petrol engine sourced from the Fiat Avventura Powered by Abarth. The turbocharged engine produces a healthy 140 PS of power at 5,500 rpm and peak torque of 210 Nm between 2,000 and 4,000 rpm, and is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
