Four Dead in Bel-Etang: Seven People Were in Crashed Car

This drama has killed four people, including a child of 11 years. A truck violently struck the rear of the car that was parked after a mechanical failure. The impact of the shock was extremely violent. According to Defi Media source, the truck dragged the car about twenty meters.

The occupants of the car are from three different families. Four of them  died on the spot. They are Michael Philippe, 35, his partner Nicole Boot, 42, the son of the latter, Dylan, 11, and the driver of the car, Cyril Dubion, a resident of Rose Hill, aged 49.

The other three passengers, including a baby of three months, came out with minor injuries. They were transported to the hospital in Flacq.

Paul Colette, one of the survivors told on Radio Plus they had gone to a party at a friend. On returning the tragedy occurred. The car broke down. And a truck was struck head-on.

The truck driver, Beejansing Beeharry, 58, was arrested. It will be translated to the court Flacq where a provisional charge of involuntary manslaughter by negligence will be lodged against him. According to our cross, the police objected to his release on parole for his own safety.

Also according to the cross, the wrecked car was not in order, the insurance policy and the declaration has not been renewed.

Relatives of Michael Philip did not return. His cousin Dolores said on Radio Plus he was a jovial man. "He had gone to live with his concubine in Sevastopol. He loved life, "she reflects.

Francis, the brother of Nicole is still in shock. "We are shocked. I heard on the radio that there were four died in an accident, "he told Radio Plus,  adding he did not know at that time that his sister was among the victims.  This is his wife , he said, who called on his cell phone to tell him the terrible news.
