In a fit of anger during a lively argument with his fiancée, a young 21-year-old man, Atish Bokooal, ended his life suddenly on Sunday night by jumping off a bus travelling at high speed at Canoe , Petite Riviere.
Atish Bokooal was killed instantly. The young man, an employee of an insurance company, had an argument with his girlfriend when they returned from the beach in Flic-en-Flac. The two engaged in contention. Frustrated, the young man threatened to throw out of the bus to commit suicide. After a few minutes while the dispute seemed to drag on, the young man put his threat by opening the emergency door of the bus to throw off while the vehicle was travelling at high speed.
The fall has been fatal. Alarmed, the police of Bambous was requested on the scene and the victim's body was transported to the morgue at Princess Margaret Candos Orthopaedic Centre for autopsy to be performed Monday. An investigation was opened.
