Here's the first look at the front of the 2020 Toyota Corolla Altis
Toyota Motor has released a teaser of the 2020 Toyota Corolla Altis ahead of its world debut this week, and our rendering artist SRK has constructed the front-end providing the first look at the next generation of the world's best selling sedan.

The company will hold the product showcase at the 2018 Guangzhou Auto Show on 16 November and at a dedicated event in Carmel, California (USA) on 15 November.

The teaser is proof that the 2020 Toyota Corolla Altis won't have an individual design. Its fascia is heavily based on that of the hatchback and estate body styles of the Japanese automaker's new C-segment car family.

The new generation Toyota Corolla Altis will have a body longer, lower and wider than its predecessor, and changes in dimension should lend it a more dynamic, prestigious and sophisticated road presence. At the front, one can expect a flatter bonnet flanked by slim, J-shaped bi-beam LED headlamps wrapped deep into the front fenders, a rounded nose and trapezoidal under-grille. Here, the sedan has a unique pattern, and the horizontal LED fog lights on the faux air intakes is another distinctive touch.

Moving to the sides, the redesigned model should feature a gently rising beltline, chiselled character lines linking the protruding flanks and 18-inch alloy wheels. The rear-end may sport similar all-LED tail lamps housed in sleek units that accentuate the broad, robust stance of the car.

The all-new Toyota Corolla Altis sits on the TNGA C platform. It should come with the familiar 8NR-FTS 1.2L turbo, and M20A-FKS 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engines, but no diesel engine. Those demanding fuel efficiency will get the option of the M20A-FXS 2.0-litre petrol-electric full-hybrid powertrain.

Toyota will not offer a diesel engine option in the all-new Corolla Altis, with the improved hybrid option offering the desired mileage for economy-seekers.

The 2020 Toyota Corolla will likely go on sale in the first markets in early 2020. Sometime next year, Japan may get the narrow-body versions of the all-new C-segment sedan and estate, namely Axio and Fielder respectively.
