Honda cuts UK production as Thai floods hit parts supplies
Honda is cutting production at its UK factory because of parts shortages stemming from the floods in Thailand.

Honda said a number of suppliers in Asia are unable to maintain parts production because of the floods, disrupting the flow of parts to production operations in Europe and other regions.

From this week, Honda said it will temporarily reduce weekly production volume at its UK manufacturing operations in Swindon, England.

"The parts supply situation is being assessed on a daily basis and it is likely that production adjustments may have to continue in the short term," Honda said in a statement.

Honda builds the Civic and CR-V models in Swindon.

While the vast majority of parts used to produce Honda's European-built cars are sourced in Europe, a few parts are sourced from Thailand, Honda said.

The automaker will also reduce production in Brazil and the Philippines because of parts shortages
