The idea of a Maruti Ignis pick-up is a wild one, given its compact proportions. It wouldn't make sense in the commercial aspect, as Suzuki already have the Super Carry to meet that demand. An Ignis pick-up is more of a leisure product that can go off-road. The international-spec Suzuki Ignis does have the option of AWD and a high ground clearance. It also pulls off the tough off road bits integrated, such as chunky tires, roof mounted spare wheel, thicker black plastic cladding, and an extra pair of fog lamps.
In India, the Ignis can be had with a 61 kW (81.77 hp) 1.2-litre VVT petrol and 55.2 kW (73.99 hp) 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine. Transmission choices include 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual for both variants. It can average 20.89 km/l (petrol) and 26.80 km/l (diesel) mileage. Prices start at INR 4,56,072 (ex-showroom Delhi, Post GST).
Internationally, the Suzuki Ignis packs a K12C 1.2-litre DUALJET naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine that develops 66 kW (88.47 hp) at 6,000 rpm and 120 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. The mild-hybrid version equipped with the SHVS system is optional. The front-wheel drive model can be specified with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automated manual transmission, while the AWD model is exclusive to the manual variant.
