India-Bound Honda BR-V Showcased in Japan
Honda has showcased the India-bound Honda BR-V to journalists at the Twin Ring Motegi circuit in Japan.

Journalists were also allowed a test drive of the BR-V around the circuit, so stay tuned to Indian Autos Blog for the first look review.

The BR-V has been confirmed for an Indian launch next financial year, with reports stating that it will enter production in April 2016 at Honda Cars India’s Tapukara facility. Officials of Honda Cars India confirmed to Indian Autos Blog that both petrol and diesel variants will be available.

Based on the Honda Amaze platform, the BR-V gets a different interior (in comparison to the Brio-series cars) for a more upmarket look. While parts like the steering wheel and center tunnel including the cupholders, accessory socket and the gear shifter are carried over from the Brio, designers have given the BR-V a new center console with a piano black finish and a touchscreen audio system. It also receives an automatic climate control system, though the panel is non-touchscreen unit.

The BR-V, as reported earlier, will first launch in Indonesia early next year. For the Indonesian market, Honda has confirmed a 1.5-liter i-VTEC petrol engine capable of 118 hp and 145 Nm of torque, paired to a new 6-speed manual or a CVT gearbox.
