This supercar exists only on digital paper at the moment, but if it were to come to life, power would come from a Mercedes-sourced 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 good for 500 bhp. That would be paired to electric motors kicking in an additional 200 bhp.
According to Mean Metal Motors top speed for the M-Zero is 318 km/h and it can rocket from 0 to 100 km in less than 3.0 seconds. The engine specs are nice, but the real attention grabber is the rear end, aka the “crosshair.” This design feature is supposed to improve handling and reduce oversteer. However, this is still just a hypothesis that has only been worked on in computer simulations. It's still an interesting approach to an old problem, even if it does make the M-Zero look a bit like a futuristic spaceship. Speaking of looks, this concept supercar looks different from just about every angle, something which could infuriate or delight buyers.
Unlike other concept supercars floating around, this one seems to have a small shot of coming to reality. There’re apparently four teams in four countries working on it. Mean Metal Motors says it needs investors to help get the project off the ground, and for the first round its requesting $7 million. Here’s hoping they find some wealthy Indian businessman to help them, if only so we can see the crosshair prove its worth on the track.
