Japanese Cars Recall for Faulty Airbag: Mauritius is Not Affected
Mauritius is not affected by the recall of Japanese cars Toyota, Honda, Mazda and Nissan due to a problem of faulty passenger side airbag. This is what said Jean-Marc Antoo, Sales Manager at Toyota to Defi Media.

It is the same for cars the Nissan brand. Michael Ng, Marketing Manager at ABC Motors, explains that in such cases, the manufacturer shall notify the countries concerned. At present (note: Thursday), ABC Motors has not received such notification.

However, nothing has been confirmed for the Honda brand as the dealer of this brand, could not be reached by phone this holiday. A representative of Axess, Mazda dealer, says that the brand is not affected by this recall or to Mauritius or elsewhere. However, the in all sources Madza is mentioned as part of this recall.

3 million vehicles of Japanese brands Toyota, Honda, Mazda and Nissan will be recalled. This attempt to resolve a malfunction of the front passenger airbag. On all vehicles recalled: 1.73 million vehicles (including Corolla and Camry) Toyota nearly 1.14 million Hondas and 137,000 Nissan vehicles are concerned.

The front passenger airbag of these vehicles assembled between November 2000 and March 2004, may not deploy properly due to a possible defect in the pyrotechnic system ensuring swelling. These airbags have been provided to manufacturers by the same automotive supplier, Takata Corp..
