With safety increasingly a priority for car buyers in India, automakers are putting more focus on safety features, regardless of segment, price or size of the vehicle.

In the latest, Maruti Suzuki has made driver airbag standard in the Maruti Swift.

The development is being reported by Team-BHP, but the revision in the specifications list is yet to reflect on the company's website. In this aspect, the Maruti Swift now competes head-to-head with the Hyundai i20, VW Polo, Honda Jazz, Ford Figo and Nissan Micra. Additionally, driver seat belt reminder and buzzer have also been added to the list of standard safety features.

Concurrently, Maruti Suzuki has enhanced the safety credentials of the Maruti S-Cross. Like the other NEXA-exclusive models Baleno and Ignis, the S-Cross now comes with ISOFIX child seat anchorages as standard. ISOFIX child seat anchorages is one of the safety features of the NEXA Safety Shield which includes dual front airbags and ABS with EBD.

In other news, Maruti Suzuki revealed the Maruti Dzire Allure yesterday. The special edition comes equipped some exclusive exterior and interior accessories.
