Chennai-based KNIGHT Auto Customizer has got their hands on a Maruti Swift and given it a matte purple wrap that should stand out from the galaxy of Swifts on Indian roads.
To further add some sporty character to the car, the company has installed a 'Swift Sport' inspired body kit, which comprises of a sportier bumper with gun metal lashes beside the fog lamp, honeycomb mesh for the upper and radiator grille, sculpted faux intakes on the engine hood, black ORVM caps, gun-metal 5-spoke alloy rims, and projector headlamps with LED DRLs.
In India, the Swift retails with a 1.2-liter K-Series petrol engine developing 84.3 PS and 115 Nm of torque as well as a 1.3-liter DDiS diesel engine delivering 75 PS and 190 Nm of torque. Both engines come equipped only with a 5-speed manual gearbox. It can average an ARAI-certified fuel mileage of 20.4 km/L (petrol) and 25.2 km/L (diesel).
Following the launch of 3rd gen Dzire last month, Maruti will introduce its hatchback counterpart, the 3rd gen Maruti Swift, in early 2018, according to reports. An unveiling and price disclosure at Auto Expo 2018 next February is expected, but not officially confirmed.
The 2018 Maruti Swift will be based on the new HEARTECT 5th gen platform and weigh under 950 kg. The car's engine lineup will likely see no changes, while a 5-speed AGS (AMT) could be introduced in both petrol and diesel variants for the first time, as in the 2017 Maruti Dzire.
