Mate Rimac Finally Gets His Own Rimac Nevera, There Is a Surprise for His Wife on Board

The first customer to take delivery of the Rimac Nevera was the 2016 Formula 1 World Champion Nico Rosberg. The former pro driver took it for a drive with the automaker's chief, Mate Rimac, in the passenger seat. He called the car "insane" and described it as a "proper race car."

Nico's Nevera is #001 of 150. This means that only 150 customers will be able to get their hands on the hypercar. Rimac will also build #000, which will remain with the company. Each of the units goes for a starting price of $2.5 million.

In February 2023, the first customer in the UK got their brand-new Nevera. It was painted in green and rode on Vertex wheels with Platinum finish. The first Nevera to set wheels on American soil was delivered in June 2023 and was handed out in a ceremony that took place at Rimac's dealership in New York.

Now, the founder and CEO of the company, Mate Rimac, uploaded a video on social media to show how his own Nevera was made. The CEO of Bugatti Rimac finally got his hands on his own car, which took quite a while. He also uploaded several shots of the interior to show the spec of his car and it looks brilliant.

“Finally, my daily driver is ready,” he wrote in the caption. His daily driver sports a dark red exposed carbon fiber exterior but also unpainted carbon fiber body parts. The flag of Croatia shows up on the mirror cases as a tribute to the carmaker's home country. The name of the model shows up at the back written in big red letters.

Red is also the dominant color inside the cabin, contrasting with black elements. Red Alcantara with black stitching covers the passenger seat, while the driver's seat sports the inverted color pattern.

There is an "M8" on the driver's bucket seat, standing for "Mate," and a "K8," standing for "Katarina," who is Mrs. Rimac.

The side figure of a woman is embroidered on the dashboard. It depicts the portrait of a girl from the ancient city of Solin, known as the Solinjanka. The bust is on display at the Archeological Museum in Zagreb, Croatia.

Mate Rimac’s Nevera, just like any other, is powered by a quad-motor system, which generates a total of 1,888 horsepower (1,914 metric horsepower). The lithium-ion battery pack sports a capacity of 120 kWh and stores enough energy for a drive of up to 300 miles (490 kilometers) before the car needs to be plugged in again.

It seems to be getting a busy time for Mate Rimac. Just last week, Bugatti Rimac's CEO showed a video teaser of the upcoming Bugatti. The model is going to ditch the W16 for a brand-new V16, which will be integrated into a hybrid system. The car has already been shown to a select group of customers.

For all of us, mortals, the all-new Bugatti will be unveiled in June.
