Mazda6 is Being Recalled Because of Spiders
Spiders. As in the creatures with eight legs. File this one under the strange and unusual, but not impossible category.

Mazda has just announced that it is recalling some 42,000 units of its Mazda6 sedan built from 2010 to 2012, specifically ones powered by the 2.5-liter four-cylinder. The reason? Spiders may actually be able to crawl into the engine and weave webs in the evaporative canister vent hose. This could block the canister and further result in the fuel tank having an excessive amount of negative pressure.

The pressure could then cause the fuel tank to crack, potentially leading to a fuel leak and even a fire. Owners will obviously be notified by the Japanese automaker and the necessary repairs will be completed free of charge. The recall will affect Mazda6 sedans built specifically from September 14, 2009 through May 2, 2011. Amazingly, a recall for this very same problem was first issued back in 2011 for 2009-2010 models.
