Kia has unveiled the 2026 EV9 Nightfall Edition at this year’s New York Auto Show, featuring the same distinctive package one might find on the Seltos, Sportage, and Telluride. However, one might also argue that none of those look as stylish as the EV9, and one might be right.

The EV9 Nightfall Edition is all about gloss black. You’ll find this hue just about everywhere, including on the new exclusive 20” wheels with a dark Kia emblem and 275/50R all-season tires.

You’ve got your gloss black front grille accents, gloss black skid plates, roof rails, mirror covers, lower door side sill accents, a wide range of black emblems, and there’s even a new exterior color dubbed Roadrider Brown (exclusive to the EV9 Nightfall in Land AWD trim). Roadrider Brown is described as an earthtone signature color. We would have loved to see it, but all we got was this white example in the press release.

Additional black accents can be found inside. There’s an exclusive Black interior color scheme, a seating upholstery pattern with genuine seat stitching, plus a black headliner – it's standard in the six-passenger configuration with the second-row captain’s chairs. Of course, you can also opt for a 60/40 split-fold second row bench that increases the total capacity to seven.

“This award-winning SUV continues to be a landmark win for the Kia brand,” said Kia America COO & EVP, Steven Center. “Appealing to diverse audiences and offering families the ability to travel in both style and comfort for their everyday needs and adventures in a fully electrified way.”

Visuals aside, the EV9 Nightfall Edition is also pretty impressive when it comes to straight-line performance. This fully electric SUV comes with a Boost function as standard, which increases torque from 443 lb-ft to 516 lb-ft. In terms of horsepower, you still get the same 379 hp figure courtesy of the dual motor setup – however, the additional torque allows you to rocket from zero to 60 mph (97 kph) in just 4.5 seconds.

Meanwhile, because it uses the North American Charging Standard, that means Kia EV9 owners can access Tesla’s Supercharger network across the United States. They can also use existing CCS networks via an optional adapter.

The Kia EV9 Nightfall edition will be assembled at the carmaker’s West Point plant in Georgia and qualifies for a $7,500 federal EV tax credit. Sales are expected to begin in the second quarter of 2025, which means we won’t have to wait too long before placing an order. As for the actual price tag, we’re not sure what that will look like yet, but don’t expect this to come cheap. Even a base EV9 kicks off from $54,900, which is a hefty sum.
