New BMW F 750 GS & BMW F 850 GS unveiled at 2017 EICMA show
BMW Motorrad has unveiled the new BMW F 750 GS and the BMW F 850 GS at the 2017 EICMA Show in Milan, Italy.

BMW has built the two bikes on steel bridge frame in monocoque construction for increased riding precision. The design of the two motorcycle is also new and more muscular. BMW has placed the fuel tank in a traditional layout, between the seat bench and the steering head, for optimised packaging and an improved centre of gravity.

The bikes get 853cc in-line twin cylinder engines with a 270-degree firing order and two counterbalancer shafts. The engines pair with a 6-speed transmission with an anti-hopping clutch. The motorcycle also features 'Rain' and 'Road' riding modes, while the combination of BMW Motorrad ABS and the ASC (Automatic Stability Control) ensures a high level of safety. Brakes on both motorcycles include 305 mm dual discs at the front and a single rear 365 mm disc, both with disengagable ABS.

BMW F 750 GS:

The engine in the BMW F 750 GS produces 77 PS of power at 7,500 rpm, and 83 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. The claimed top speed stands at 190 kmph. The motorcycle comes with a 41 mm front telescopic fork and a rear adjustable monoshock. The front end offers 151 mm of travel, while the rear is capable of 177 mm travel.

The 19-inch front and the 17 inch rear alloy wheels are shod with 110-section front and 150-section rear tyres. The motorcycle weighs 224 kg, wet, and the seat height is at 815 mm. The fuel tank is a 15-litre unit.

BMW F 800 GS:

The powerplant of the BMW F 800 GS makes 95 PS at 8,250 rpm, and 92 Nm at 6,250 rpm. The claimed maximum speed is over 200 kmph. The bike rides on 43 mm upside-down front fork, and an adjustable rear monoshock. The front suspension is capable of 204 mm of travel, while the rear can travel up to 219 mm.

The motorcycle features 21-inch front, and a 17 inch rear spoke wheels. 90-section front and 150-section rear knobby tyres wrap the wheels. The F 800 GS weighs 229 kg, wet; and the seat is 860 mm high.

Highlights of the optional equipment for the two motorcycles include Keyless Ride, Gear shift assistant Pro, Dynamic ESA, eCall, and Connectivity.
