While the Technospace Concept Citroen showcased in Geneva gave European buyers insight into the French automaker’s upcoming new C4 Picasso, these new spy shots of a prototype caught testing in the cold sans any camouflage gives them an even better idea of what to expect. Set to launch later this year, the new C4 Picasso will be the first vehicle based on PSA's new Efficient Modular Platform 2, a lightweight architecture that, combined with efficient new engines, promises to make the MPV as environmentally friendly as possible.
While it's shorter in overall length than the existing C4 Picasso, its wheelbase is longer with shorter overhangs to optimize interior space and increase trunk space. A bold new nose dominates the latest double chevron grille, and the C4 now boasts two pairs of headlamp clusters, similar to the Nissan Juke in style. Chunky chrome trims the side glass while the rear has been given a modest facelift and LED taillights. Improved interior packaging will include the new PSA touchscreen infotainment system.
