New Spyshots of the Yamaha MT-15 Emerge
The Yamaha MT15 has been spied again in Indonesia. The new spyshots cover the front, side and the rear profiles of the naked Yamaha R15, revealing more details than the earlier images.

The MT-15 (the name is yet to be confirmed), features a significant upgrade in styling rather that just being an R15 without the fairing. The naked street fighter gets a new headlight assembly that reminisces the Kawasaki Z800.

The headlamp is reported to be all-LED, and its entire stalk is mounted on an Up Side Down telescopic fork which is unseen in any of the entry-level Yamaha motorcycles in the performance-segment. This suggests that the naked version is based on the next-generation Yamaha R15 (possibly the version 3.0) which could debut with similar hardware upgrades after the MT-15 hits the streets. The tail lamp is also an all-LED unit, with a twin-horizontal strip layout.

The Yamaha MT-15 gets a new digital instrument cluster, a conventional, single-piece handlebar, a new fuel tank design with KTM Duke-like extensions made of plastic, an underbelly cowl, split-seats, new disc brake rotors and a new alloy wheel design.

Powering the MT-15 could be a retuned version of the 150 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine with SOHC, that is being used on the R15 V2.0. In the latter, the motor produces 17 PS at 8,500 rpm and 15 Nm at 7,500 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
