New Year Update for Suzuki SX4
Suzuki’s versatile SX4 leisure hatchback has undergone a series of updates to, the company says, enhance its cosmetic appeal.

The drive train options of the current SX4 remain - still with a choice of front or all-wheel drive, - which include a two-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine and a choice of six-speed manual or six-speed constantly variable transmission. "he interior retains its mix of space and practicality, adding to the SX4’s overall attraction," Suzuki says.

Styling more refined

The most obvious change to the SX4 is the grille, which has more-pronounced horizontal bars and a prominent Suzuki logo. The bonnet has been re-profiled and a bolder front bumper added. The alloy wheel rims have a new design and the cabin gets new fabrics and chromed bis on the facia.

The instrument cluster uses diolde lights technology, the CVT a position indicator, the audio system has eight speakers. Other standard features include auto aircon, remote-controlled door releases and keyless starting.

Technical and dynamic attributes of the SX4 also remain: a tight turning radius, relatively short gear ratios, a rigid body structure and a suspension optimised for all road conditions. "The result," Suzuki says, "is a versatile, compact and appealing all-rounder with an unrivalled sense of fun."

Maximum power output is 112kW at 6200rpm, torque peak 190Nm at 4000rpm. Fuel consumption is listed as 7.3 litres/100m for the manual, 7.6 for the CVT auto.

The 4x4 version carries electronic stability control; all models have anti-lock brakes, two front air bags and two side curtain air bags.
