The fourth generation 2016 Renault Scenic debuted at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show last month, and before this French Summer, Renault will unveil its extended, three-row version, the Renault Grand Scenic.

As development continues, test mules of the next-gen Renault Grand Scenic have been spotted in France, courtesy Auto Plus.

With an extended body from behind the C-pillar, the all-new Renault Grand Scenic, reports say, will also differ slightly in terms of styling at the rear. The test mules here appear to have slightly different tail lamps compared to the Scenic. As for the other visual changes, it’d be little premature to draw conclusions due to the heavy camouflage and fake body panels. The interior will be in line with the two-row version but it would have to be seen if the company will offer a bench seat or individual seats in the third row.

The new generation Scenic is 40 mm longer and has a 32 mm longer wheelbase compared to its previous generation model. Its three-row version should see similar size increments.

The CMF platform-based next-gen Grand Scenic is expected to be offered with the same TCe 1.2-litre petrol and dCi 1.5- and 1.6-litre diesel engine options as the Scenic, with 6-speed manual and 7-speed EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch) automatic transmission choices.

The Grand Scenic will be positioned above the second generation Renault Koleos that was unveiled at Auto China 2016 (2016 Beijing Motor Show) this week. The MPV will go on sale before the end of the year, Renault has confirmed.
