The five-passenger Mokka (German for mocha) will be available in front- and all-wheel-drive configurations.
General Motors' European subsidiary plans to offer customers a choice of three four-cylinder engines — two gasoline and one diesel, all equipped with fuel-saving stop-start technology. The base engine is a normally aspirated 1.6-liter gas unit that makes 114 horsepower, while a turbocharged 1.4-liter gas engine is rated at 139 hp and 148 pound-feet of torque. A 1.7-liter turbodiesel delivers 129 hp and 221 lb-ft. Both turbo engines can be equipped with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.
Among the available technologies that will be offered on the Mokka are front- and rearview cameras, adaptive headlamps, lane departure warning, forward collision alert and traffic-sign recognition.
