Purported Suzuki Gixxer 250 spied testing in UK
A Suzuki Gixxer 250 test mule has been spied in the UK, courtesy MoreBikes. Also referred to as Suzuki GSX R250, the new Gixxer model hasn’t been confirmed by the company, but could be introduced at EICMA 2016 in November.
The design of the Suzuki Gixxer 250 seen in the spyshots matches with what was seen in the leaked patent images.
The Suzuki Gixxer 250 should have the same 248 cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine as the Suzuki Inazuma 250, which produces 18 kW (24 hp) at 8,500 rpm and 22 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm and is mated to a 6-speed transmission in the latter.
The Suzuki Gixxer 250 will rival the newly-introduced Honda CBR250RR and the Yamaha R25, not to forget the Kawasaki Ninja 250. Its Indian launch hasn't been confirmed yet. Mr. Suresh Babu Janarthanan, Project Leader for CBU Products at Suzuki Motorcycle India, reportedly said that the company will bring it to India "when the time is right".
