The next-gen Renault Duster was previously expected not before 2018, but according to a model forecast analysis from Just Auto, the tide may be turning quickly.

According to the report, the all-new Renault Duster "should have its world premiere" at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, which opens in early March.

The report further adds that European production (in Romania) of the next-gen Renault Duster should commence six months after its world premiere in March. Production at other global plants would start at a later date. The Brazilian launch is said to happen in 2018, followed by Indian launch in 2019.

In September 2016, Renault announced that as a part of a new joint venture with Industrial Development & Renovation Organisation of Iran, the Renault Duster and Symbol would be built in Iran from 2018. However, based on other models launched in the country, it is being speculated that it would be a repurposed version of the current generation (then previous generation) model.

The next-gen Renault Duster will be available in 5- and 7-seat seating layouts. Reports suggest that there will be two vastly different versions of the new generation, one for European markets and another for emerging markets. The former will be based on the CMF platform, while the latter will continue on an improved B0/Logan platform.

A variety of four-cylinder petrol, diesel and flex-fuel engines with displacements ranging from 1.2- to 2.0-litre will be available for the new Duster, the design direction of which was frozen in 2015.
