Ring Road Phase 2: At Least 70 Families will be Relocated
In order to complete the second phase of Ring Road Project, the Ministry of Housing and Lands is taking steps to relocate some 70 families who live on the route of the project.

More specifically, the people of Valley Pitot will move before the beginning of the second part of the work. According to a source close to the case, they have two choices, either be relocated to a house in the 'National Housing Development Company' or be relocated and compensated.

This road will connect to the existing road network in Port-Louis, Labourdonnais street and Tranquebar, specifically the road Chateau d'Eau. In addition, a tunnel will be built under the mountain of Signals lead to Tranquebar. The second phase of the Ring Road will ease traffic congestion, as drivers have the option to take this road Vallée Pitot to reach Sorèze instead of going through the capital.

The cost of the second phase is higher than the first. It is argued that the sum of Rs 3.5 billion has already been disbursed, but it was only towards the end of the building that will the actual cost.
