Road Safety: 600 Motorists Fined for Speeding Since Saturday
Heavy toll for the Christmas holiday. 567 tickets for speeding were recorded, 19 for driving while intoxicated, and more than a hundred for other Criminal Code of the road, according to figures released by the police.
Between Saturday and Tuesday, the day of Christmas, many motorists were getting caught for their behaviors. In particular, they caught at roadblocks placed in the vicinity of malls, nightclubs and beaches. The exercise will continue until January 15.
Bikers police also patrol the main roads in towns and villages. While the Emergency Response Service and the regular police roam residential neighborhoods.
Police deployed between 3500 and 5400 officers across the country.
Some officers who usually administrative positions were sent to the field.
